Yamaha Golf Carts - Quality Speaks

Yamaha constantly has its hand on the pulse of the market. They leave no stone unturned during their innovation process to enhance the customers experience in a golf cart and are fast in responding to changing market trends. Yamaha understands and accommodates the ever changing demands of the modern day golf professionals and this is what makes them the most popular golf cart producers in the world. Every Yamaha golf cart comes with the quality and durability associated with the brand. The various features on its golf cart have been added keeping in mind the demands of a long day spent on the golf course.

Time Tested Performance

Anyone who has driven a Yamaha motorcycle will readily vouch for its quality and reliability. Yamaha uses the most advanced technologies to manufacture such high quality bikes. The engines that power their motorbikes are the same engines that drive their golf carts and hence are equally reliable. They are exposed to all sorts of conditions before launching them in the market. This is done to ensure that the golf carts do complete justice to the expectations from them.

Any golfer worth his time on the golf course will agree about the amount of weight that needs to be carried along in this sport. Thus the golf cart has to be sturdy enough to handle loads of weight. The Yamaha golf cart does this job with quite some excellence as it can hold up to five thousand pounds of weight. This is more than enough capacity for even the most serious golf enthusiasts who carry additional golfing equipment apart from the regular clubs..

Yamaha golf carts are very sturdy by nature and can withstand all types of weather conditions. They are produced keeping all such possibilities in mind. Conditions where their competitor carts would normally fail, Yamahas golf carts come out winning with flying colors. No one wants to be lugging around their heavy equipment while it’s raining heavily or the sun is beating down fiercely. Hence, we can safely conclude that not only does Yamaha produce phenomenally modern golf carts, they also ensure peace of mind. Whenever you step into a Yamaha golf cart you can be assured you will have a less tiring and a more enjoyable golfing experience.

Choosing the Correct Golf Ball For Playing

If you are planning to buy golf balls then you should be aware about a few things so as to make an intelligent and an informed decision. This decision will impact what you purchase and for how much.

Now if you are a beginner you need not go and buy yourself a high end golf ball. In the market there are golf balls that are available for beginners , intermediates and the absolute professionals. The factor is the kind of game you play and how do you play. The ball can vary if you are a long or a short hitter. The ball may vary if you hook more than you slice . That means you need to decide the type of game you play . Usually a short hitter would need the ball to go a long distance than a long hitter.

Rather than worrying about anything that I have said before the best bet for beginners is to get the cheapest possible balls and try to improve the game. At the beginner level you will probably lose a lot of balls and that may impact your budget. You are better off buying golf balls in bulk as that will help reduce cost. Also never ever lose sight of the fact that almost anybody who is an advanced player started as a beginner and patience definitely is a virtue you need to have.

There are two piece low compression balls available from leading manufactures of the ball which help in going good distances with even slower swing speeds. Then there is another type which is two piece performance golf ball which can go longer distances with absolutely no spin. As you gain proficiency in your game then you need to have advanced balls to help keep up with your game and these balls are known as multi layer balls. Each layer of the ball gives you several benefits like the urethane covers give that special spin, soft covers give that feel and firm mantle helps go the distance.

The advanced category of balls come with very high prices and make sure to check at all stores and compare prices before you buy the high end variety of golf balls. These golf balls definitely give you an edge when you play professionally but yes they cost a fortune.

So in short choosing a golf ball which is right for you is important so as to not to wash your budget with red ink but also gives you an opportunity to improve your game.

Two Cheap Volkswagen Upgrades

If you own a Golf, GTI or Jetta, and you’re looking for some inexpensive upgrades, read on.  We’ll start with two Volkswagen performance upgrades that are going to make the biggest impact for the lowest cost.  The first area of topic will be your VW’s suspension.

An upgrade to your suspension is a night and day difference from stock. Let’s start at the strut towers. When you turn corners, your strut towers do not move in sync, they move independently. That movement is called stress. Thus, when the car leans, different stresses occur to each strut tower. To reduce give in your car, it’s best to install an upper stress bar. Take for instance the ABD Racing Upper Stress Bar. It’s got a twin tube design which helps reduce flexing and twisting when cornering. The install for an upper stress bar is relatively simple. Set stress bar into place, mark holes for drilling, drill, drop hardware into holes, place in stress bar, and bolt down.

For the test drive, head out to to the freeway and take a spin. The first thing you’re likely to notice is that bumps will feel more stable and even. Without a stress bar in place, you’ll feel one corner of the car rise up when bumps are hit. With the stress bar in place, it should be blatently obvious that one side of the car no longer flexes and gets pushed up. The whole front end now disperses the shock of a bump more evenly. When cornering, you’ll find that there’s not as much lean in the car. This will add to the ‘ride on rails’ feel as you continue to upgrade suspension parts. If you want to stiffen up the back end a bit, a rear stress bar is about the same price as a front.

Our next area of topic is the air intake system. If you’re looking for a little pep in your step, and some growl under the hood, then you’ve found your next modification. Several companies put out good quality cold air intakes, but Euro Sport Accessories’ Cool-Flo Race Air Intake System seems to accommodate the widest range of VW models. Even if you’ve got an old Volkswagen with a CIS/E fuel injection system, you can still boost performance and feel results. Don’t let that fuel dizzy fool ya! Install is relatively easy, more time consuming than hard to understand.

The other great perk about Euro Sport’s Cool-Flo Intake is that there are no more filters to buy, the filter is re-usable! Simply remove filter, rinse with water until clean, let stand to dry, re-oil, and back on she goes! That’s roughly $10.00 savings every time you go to get your oil changed. (ok, maybe every other time) Either way, it’s money in the bank for two more cheap upgrades!

Part II of this III part series is on the way.

Golf Fitness Exercises to Warm Up Five Minutes Before Your Round of Golf

Golf fitness exercises can be very beneficial as part of your warm up before a round of golf. Especially on those days when you are tight on time. If you rushing to get to the golf course for your weekly round of golf, or struggling to warm-up for your round of golf when you only have 5 minutes to spare. The implementation of some golf fitness stretches could be just what you need before heading to the first tee.

It is well known that in every professional sport athletes perform a series of flexibility exercises and drills to prepare them to play a game. The game of golf is no different. Unseen to the general public, many PGA Tour players perform a series of golf flexibility exercises to prepare them to play golf. It is done prior to hitting the driving range or putting green. It is a process of getting the muscles and joints of body ready to swing a golf club. Most every golfer on the planet understands the benefit of a warm-up program to get the body ready to play golf or any sport for that matter. Unfortunately for us the time required to perform a comprehensive golf warm-up program with golf flexibility exercises is not reasonable. Not reasonable because of time restrictions on our busy lives.

For example, we set our tee time for Friday at 1:30. Our plan when we leave the house in the morning is “I will get to course at 1:00, hit a few putts, chip for 10 minutes, head to the range, and be at the first tee with a few minutes to spare”. Unfortunately, our plans sometimes do not play out as we intended.

We get stuck with a client on the phone, a conference call runs long, we get stuck in traffic. Whatever the case may be we are caught rushing to the golf course, getting to the course with 10 minutes to spare, jump out of the car, tying our golf shoes, get to the first tee with 5 minutes to spare, haven’t hit a shot or putted….Do I need to go on?
Probably not.

It is a situation that happens to us all, and I as am guilty of it as you. However as strong as I suggest performing a good warm-up, and putting yourself in the correct frame of mind for the round, life at times just does not allow us to do it.

What are we to do in such situations?

I first off would suggest not utilizing the “grip and rip it” motto if you get to the first tee without warming-up. I have seen this (myself included) lead to a myriad of problems from the get go.

I can remember a few years ago I took this approach and I think made a triple bogey on the first hole. My drive went left into the rough, second shot to the right, approach shot over the green into the bunker, bunker shot rolled 20 feet past the hole. Need I go on?

Let’s just say I learned my lesson. First and foremost if you are caught in this type of situation lets not panic. Let’s put a plan together to start the round out on the right foot and keep you in a positive frame of mind.

My first suggestion is not to rush and attempt to hit 3 putts, pull out driver take a few hacks, and then tee it up.

Lets take the 5 minutes we have and get the body warmed-up and ready to swing a golf club. How can we do this? Simply by putting together a series of golf stretches to “loosen” you up. Golf flexibility exercises will loosen the muscles and joints of your body. Preparing them to swing a golf club. They are simple to perform and can get your body and mind more ready to play than just a few practice swings with the driver. This will take a couple of minutes to perform, but it will help you get the body ready to swing the golf club.

Once we have got the body “loosened up” lets get the mind in the correct space. I have seen all too often the tempo of a swing is way out of whack when a golfer lacks the time to properly warm-up. Attempt to relax, take a few deep breaths, and get the body to slow down a little. This should definitely help create some better tempo in your swing from the start.

Also, take your time. Once it is your turn to hit, take a little extra time. Take a few extra practice swings, relax, find your tempo, and match your first swing to the tempo of your practice swing. This is a tip I learned from Dean Reinmuth (top 50 Golf Digest teaching pros).

If you are not comfortable over the ball, step away, take a series of practice swings until you find the “right” swing and then perform that same swing over the golf ball. It has done wonders for my game.

I would also suggest continuing to take extra time on every shot until you feel comfortable and have found your swing. This might not occur until the second or third hole, but it is okay. It allows you to relax, make a good swing, and make a good shot.

Finally, when you are rushed I think course management can really help. Think about it for a moment. Why not on the first tee pull out 3-wood instead of driver, even if it is a par five. Hit a nice shot into the fairway, lay-up, and play for par? Again, starting off with par or even bogey is a lot better than a double or triple, both for your scorecard and mental frame of mind.

So if you are rushing to the first tee to get your golf game going let’s review the protocol. First and foremost lets be smart and utilize the time we have at hand. Lets take the 5 minutes we have to warm-up the body for the golf swing. We will do this through the implementation of a series of golf flexibility exercises. These golf exercises will get your muscles and joints ready to swing a golf club. Once the body is ready the next step is taking your time. Take a few extra practice swings with the golf club. This will allow you to find the tempo of your golf swing. Finally lets be smart with our course management skills. Think about what is the best golf shot to make and play within ourselves until our body and mind is ready to go.

As stated previously, golf fitness exercises are an integral part of a warm up session for golf. Even if you are tight on time, a few minutes spent on a series of golf fitness stretches and golf exercises can greatly benefit your round of golf.

Golf Accessories for Frequent Fliers

If you are faced with a double whammy of being a constant traveler as well as a golf aficionado, well, you have a problem at hand. And the only solution is to carry a full set of traveling accessories so that you remain in touch with your golf swing.

If you wish to retain your handicap while you travel, you will need some of the following

- Foldable golf clubs suck, but they are still better than having no golf clubs at all. Arrange them logically in a golf bag so that you can find them when you need them. Take a few basic ones along with you, there is no need to take the full set with you.

- You get reinforced traveling golf bags for a slightly higher price tag. But since this is a one-time investment, go ahead and splurge a bit. The metal covered bags will keep your clubs safe while traveling. You know how the airlines and porters handle your luggage!

- As with all your other traveling stuff, name and label each and every thing in your golf bag including the bag itself. If things get misplaced in transit then, this way, you at least have a ghost of chance to get your stuff back.

- As far as possible, use golf shippers like ShipGolf, who will deliver your whole set the very next morning

- Carry backup tees and balls in case you misplace your regular set.

Finana in Spain - Building the Multicultural Society

Fiñana is a small village in Almeria, which in turn is a province of Andalucia in southern Spain. It is located 74km from the regional capital city and sits 946m above sea level. The main sources of income for the 2,672 inhabitants of the village are the production of cereals, olive and beetroot food industries and iron mining.

Many cultures have occupied the lands around Fiñana over the centuries and most have left their mark in some way.

Due to its location between Guadix, Baza and Almeria, the area was much in dispute in years gone by as this was a perfect location to control the lands of Abla, Abrucena and Las Tres Villas, all of which originally belonged to the municipality. An Arab fortress, the remains of which can be found just outside the village, was the stronghold but now lies as a silent witness to these troubled times.

The location of the village presents a vantage point with views, which vary greatly depending upon where one chooses to gaze from. On one side is the Sierra Nevada natural park with its mountainous peaks, the Abla valley and the Fiñana passage whilst the other side of the village presents views of the Baza Mountains. The snows of the Sierra Nevada range and the consequential natural springs make this area a fertile land, although it does drop gradually down to a dry and barren plain.

The River (Rio) Nacimiento provides the people of Fiñana with their main water supply. They have used its waters, since time immemorial, to take advantage of the ideal location allowing them to profit from their agricultural activities. They learned to control the flow of the river and used it to drive the mills, which created the food sources in older days, and to provide energy in more modern times. Since the days of Arab rule, people of the Fiñana region have known how to use water. They created an irrigation system consisting of aqueducts and channels to bring the life giving liquid to the points of most necessity thus providing them with running water, fountains and sewage systems.

Thick forests of pines, chestnut, oak and poplars grow can be found on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada which is close to the village. These forests help to protect the natural environment and also provide shade for the homes and gardens that have been built among them.

During the invasions by Christian troops, the village was a Moorish stronghold, resisting the attacks from the 10th century fortress as the invaders tried to reclaim the lands of Al-Andalus.

The town also resisted the attempted invasion of Abdurrahman III in 913, and when the Catholic King and Queen regained power, it was a stop-off point on their travels throughout the kingdom.

Fiñana preserves the signs of its multi-cultural past well, an example of which is the village church. This was a mosque at one time, although it has been of equal importance throughout history in both its guises and stands as a symbol of times when two different creeds of people lived in harmony together.

Eighteenth century maps of the village pictured it as being just one long street of the typical Andalucian whitewashed houses stretching from east to west with the fortress just outside town and other religious buildings dotted around.

Houses here are quite large and made of stone which is a popular material of the area and one which was also used for making decorative items.

Due to the terrain, the streets of the village are mostly hilly and they all converge in the square, the focal point of the village where local people meet to chat. The square is also where the church dedicated to Santiago can be found. Built in the Mudejar style during the 12th to 13th century, it has three naves and impressive pillars which support huge arches leading to the altar. The church and the large tower that presides over it have been declared monuments of great historical value due mainly to the fact that there are very few from the same era that remain almost intact.

Also remaining intact are the towers and walls that surround and once protected the village from its invaders. In fact, many of the homes here are a part of the structure of this ancient Moorish architecture.

The people of Fiñana enjoy one of their typical dishes Zaramandona that is made with pumpkins, dried peppers, tomatoes, olives, onions, cod and olive oil. Other popular dishes are oat tarts with hare, fried rabbit with tomato and pepper or garlic, which are also popular accompaniments for goat dishes.
